Been a long time since I played on Uthgard, but I do have a thane in the high 40s, maybe even 50.

My favorite classes though were never completed: Bonedancer and Spiritmaster. I'm a sucker for pet classes and unfortunately pets were messed up/incomplete. Bonedancers were missing entirely and Spiritmaster pets were not finished.

I did have a problem with a lot of people not speaking english there. It's hard to play with others when everyone's speaking a different language.

It's funny you mention those issues, because I remember those times also. However, these days just about all of the classes are fully implemented (the only exception being the Necromancer), the SM pets all work like they should, the BDs are limited to the one pet but it still doesn't stop good players from pvpin as that class - all the non-pet spells work.

The current "P99 Group" is active in Albion, it just started about a week ago, focused on being a Caster Group. There's about 6 playing, though most of the group is still levels 14-15.

You guys are not very good at DAoC. You also smell like feces.

If I ever decide to install DAOC and play there again, I have a lower level sorcerer in Albion. He's able to charm things that weren't charmable on live, or at least used to be able to. They may have changed/fixed it.

I'm enjoying reliving EQ now though. When I get bored in a month or two I might install DAOC again, we'll see.

We actually have a need for a primary sorc in our group, since we don't really have one. The most active players in the group are the 2 Theurgists, a Cleric, and a Minstrel; so we have heals, speed, some cc, and plenty of dps - but we do need a dedicated sorc for the primary CC role not just little things like mana regen and charm.

CC in DAOC plays a big role in how things play out on the battlefield, the Theurgs get AOE Root and a short-duration AE Mez, but its no replacement for a well-played Sorceror. A Wizard or two would be nice also, but that's not as important.

My biggest problem with the game was how prominent CC was in PvP. There were entire battles that came down to which CCer clicked their button first. Regardless, that game had the best PvP of any MMORPG. It's the game I left EQ for (well, Luclin helped push me away too). Relic raids, Darkness Falls fights, just going out capturing or defending forts, it was awesome.

Give it a try man, you've got nothing to lose. The servers free, the download of the client is free, and its very easy to setup; they have a step-by-step walkthrough right on the frontpage.

Stop by our IRC: irc.eqemulator.net, #uthgard.

We had an xp group running in Darkness Falls earlier this evening. Most of our group is US based, only 1-2 people are Euro.
