lol, yeah it did if you knew the real zone name as opposed to the one on the /who list if your in the zone and some zones would allow for it on their common name as well as it was close enough. in any case i've learned it doesn't really matter how things worked or didn't and as such it is pointless to argue.

your server is close enough to classic to enjoy, but there are a shitload of things that simply aren't right and it appears from this thread and others there is zero interest in fixing or even acknowledging them.

Why not use evidence instead of bitching? Otherwise it's just your word against the word of the developer of by far the most classically accurate emulated eq server.. who do you think is likely to know more?

I'm pretty sure /who all zone didn't work for a long time in classic, and if it did you certainly couldn't find /role or /anon players using it.

lol where am i to find evidence from a game i played 12 years ago?

i am sure there are numerous folks who remember doing /w all on zones back in the old days, however like the other thread about druid/ranger root/snare it is still just group a vs group b

and yeah, it displayed the zone population the same way as if you were in the zone and did a who, anon folks just showed up as anon.

Or you're wrong. If I'm wrong, please.. find some evidence and we'll fix it. If you want to act like you know what's up, validate yourself.

I vividly remember making sure everyone was anon if we were in a dungeon. If you could / all zonename, that would kind of defeat the purpose no?

Here are people saying it doesn't work (note: non emu forums. I found links on emu pages saying the same thing, but it's not worth linking)

Is there anyone who can test this on live or something? (preferably alkabor)

going anon was still useful because it hid your level/class and most folks did not know you could /who all a zone back in those days.

a friend on RZ showed me you could do /who all on zones and that is how i frequently found people to fight, back on sullon during the first few months half of the neutral team had hotkeys set up to do a /w all on the all the zones of velious as that was our turf and if opposing team members stepped foot on the island we had a group on them within a few minutes.

i am arrogant and a know it all at times, but if i think im wrong ill say so.

the date on that post says april of 2000 which is right when kunark came out, if anything it lends credibility to what im saying, as it was not until after kunark came out and i was in my late 50s did i discover the ability.

perhaps it was not in until around kunark in which case by all means stave off adding it until then i guess, but it was certainly in during the general timeframe.

Well, I'm going to have to disagree with you. I believe it adds a lot of credibility to my argument. In a short time I was able to find many posts saying it doesn't work, and one of them was from a classic EQ developer (Abashi). The other linked posts were post-classic, further stating it didn't work.

If anyone else knows more about this, post it up. Otherwise, resolved and working as intended.

Quote from Gordon from EQ saying this feature wasn't available.

Q: >>>A kind of "/who all zone" command, that would either list, or at least give a count of the players in a specific zone (without one being in that zone). In an overcrowded environment, it would save casual players a great deal of time if they could look to find a less-used zone to hunt in without having to travel to it first.

A: We're still looking into the possibility of this. We like the idea and think it would enhance gameplay for those that choose to find greener pastures.
