If the guildies in the group wanted to set that rule at the time you joined, that would be fine because you could of course agree to it or just say no thanks and not join the group.
But if they didn't set the loot rule at the beginning then they can't do it retroactively. | ||

The way I learned what need before greed means is that need rolls apply for who is online and logged in to a specific character. You can't roll for need on an alt as a rule. If the group agrees on exceptions that's a special case but in my view no one needed the Druid spell in OP and it should have properly gone to a greed roll for everyone present. Shit happens
