EQL and Green

Do you think EQL will pull a lot of people from Green? I know it's going to be a totally different game. How many of you will play? (I won't)

My prediction is it will pull players from P99 for a time. Unless EQL changes how easy it is currently looking, EQL players will probably get bored after a year or two.

Downloaded EQL already this morning. Waiting on July 1st to give it a go. If I enjoy the game I am gone from Green. If I get burnt out a year or two from now, I will be back. And you will still be here on Green without a merger with Blue....

Of course it will. Personally I'm not interested. If I want to play something different I may just as well play a modern game without the clunk.

If P99 would introduce instance RAIDS with lockouts, a lot of the player base would stay and others would come back. It does not even have to be 7 day lockouts, it could be 14 to 20 days. People would still like that.

People will stop by and say that instances are not Classic. But neither are Quakes and raid mobs chained at their spawn points, and a lot of other features added to the game.

For the most part I think EQL will have little to no impact on P99 population (maybe a slight dip for a few weeks at most). Most players that EQL appeals to already left for Quarm/THJ or know that it is a much smaller time sink that P99 and therefore will just play EQL while socking or doing other long term shit on P99

I think EQL is the reason we haven't gotten Green 2.0. Hopefully after it's been out for a while we can get what we really want.

I tried it today, and I gotta say the community really bothers me. The vocal minority are treating beta as if it's their forever toon, and are going through all of these actions to min max and optimize the crap out of a beta.

Meanwhile there's people who just started back EQ from 20 years ago and asking simple questions and the vocal minority no-lifers are responding to the casual's simple questions with overly abundant theoryquesting etc.

People will get tired of EQL in a couple months tops. There is nothing to do in that game when you can solo Innoruuk at level 40. It's the easiest of easy mode EQ.

I think the two are totally different games. I have enjoyed EQL immensely.ive explored dungeons I have never been to before like najena l, befallen, split paw besides entrance. I love the quality of life upgrades of graphics, spell books, auto loot, meming spells all in one shot so no need to go back every few levels.
However, I enjoy the community and raiding with the people on green. I see myself splitting time on both servers

No fear of xp or corpse loss I think is a little drag. Those times where I needed to find a rogue or necro to summon my corpse to zoneline for rez were where some great memories were made.
