Stuck on server select

With this thread recently necro'd, I'll just jump in.

I've been getting the "An unknown error occurred while trying to join the server" for the past couple of hours. I see the the number of players change on the server, so I figure this is a "me" issue.

In case it matters, I have played a separate, traditional install of EQ since I played P99 last weekend.

So far, I've tried:
fresh reinstall of Titanium and v62 patch
flushing the DNS (as admin)
trying to connect while using a VPN
modifying the eqhost file from login.eqemulator to leqemulator (only gave me a timeout error with this one)

I am open to ideas, experience, or expertise. I am at a loss.
