Default Do you really think EQ copied UO?

I personally don't. It seems like EQ was in development long before UO launched.

And UO was a much more simple game to develop. I do think you can easily make an argument that WoW was initially an EQ clone.

But it triggers me how many people I see pretend like the devs of EQ saw UO and decided to rip off their idea.

Like what the heck??

On a side note, this documentary basically corroborates the fact that EQ was in development for a really long time. And that it actually did get a lot of it's ideas from a MUD rather than from UO.

This is the saddest click-bait thread in RnF with a reach for discussion points, it wreaks of desperation and a yearning to be loved by a community of up voters. Reddit is that way, if you aren't getting trained in unrest or ripped off via item transfer please don't post.

Keep RnF pure, you are just reinforcing how sad this space is now. Leave me my nostalgia of the glory post of p99
