Default Enrage and high level mobs

All mobs with the classes of Warrior, Rogue, or Monk should enrage if level 56 or above.

i've gotten several drops from this guy, went there about a month ago, so don't really remember, we killed him 3 times, with 2 54 monks, 51 chanter, 55 cleric, 56 shammy, and myself 54 pally, all i know is he does drop FS gear a lot.. but if you're lucky ( in which we were ) you'll get about 3 or 4 drops at once from this guy, sucks when he goes enraged though :\ - i know for a fact he drops earing of everfount, but that's all i remember heh

This guy is close to where the Herbalists are. Watch out for him after he's down to about 20% health or so, because he gets ENRAGED.

Dropped the earring.

Can also drop a Stave of Shielding. The Veteran who had the stave also enraged at the end of the fight and i'm sure that's the only time i ever saw one of these enrage.

His spawn loc is...420, 165, -309. Im standing on it as i write this down. If you look at the map, you will see two tunnels in far north that sorta form two big loops. The one you want is the one thats to the west in more of the central part of the map, and the one you DON'T want is the in the NE. The spawn is in the upper left portion of the loop just south of the alcove that contains 3 undead and 1 slave mob.

Spawn cycle time is 19min 30sec, ive been using the timers on the corpses left behind.

Mobs in the spawn cycle include: a scarred overseer, a veteran overseer, Overseer Dal'guur.

Totaly soloable by a 70 bard i just slow him with 67 slow, and use call and muram. Its pretty straigh fwrd. I basicly run right up to him and hold him on the loc of his spawn and fight there. Once he drops down to 10% he enrages. Once hes done with enrage, he MAY flee. I highly suggest switching over to the Aoe SLOW/SNARE spell our lvl 54 song at this point so he doesnt wander into any adds.

At this point I back around the corner down the hall from the 3 Undead and the other sarnak. *this is exactly NW of his spawn loc. There I con the body to time the spawn and wait for the next spawn.

As far as loots, the dagger is highly common along with a random lvl 50-60 spell of any class, many of which weren't on his loot table. The ring and the cloak appear to be uncommon, with the boots(maby), mask, water sprinkler, and saber considerably rarer.

Note: I dont bother killing any other mobs in the area.

This guy is not a boss mob.
He is a normal spawn.
Any spot which spawns him can also spawn:
Crystal Sentinels
Crystalline Sentinels
Crystal Gargoyles
Icy Guardians

Hp estimated around 20k
Max hit on a lv 60 Ranger with NMitigation 1
310.
Avg hit on a lv 60 Ranger with Nmitigation 1
180-210 range.
This mob will Enrage when low on health

Enrage: This is the same as the monk /disc whirlwind, and is engaged by warrior, monk, and rogue class mobs (classes that get a whirlwind type /disc) L57 or higher at approximately 10% health. If you are facing the mob and have attack on, every attack will be reposted back on you. Attacking from behind an enraged mob is safe, unless the tank looses agro or dies, and the mob turns to face you. The usual strategy is to wait for the "Phutn has become ENRAGED" (in bright red letters by default) message, and just turn off attack until the "Phutn is no longer enraged" message shows up. Wielding faster weapons increases the damage from leaving attack on during an enrage. Using the whirlwind /disc vs. ENRAGE will result in no damage to either combatant (until the first one wears off, then normal repost rules apply).
I did find one piece of evidence that throws a wrench into the only those NPC classes

This is a higher level version of the Myconid Priest mob that frequents the shroom area of lower sebilis.

There was a rumor that these resisted all stun spells, but after extensive testing; I found the rumor to be false.

These things have about as high resists as the Myconid Reavers, so they are pretty tough. If you tash + malosini them you can use the chanter ae stun spells on them quite easily. Being that these are actually quite common, and quite hard to kill without casting both tash and malosini on them, I would reccommend bringing a mage or shaman when killing shrooms..

Yes these can be level 56 so you might get an enrage. Just turn off autoattack for a second till the mob stops enraging, then polish them off.
I chatted with Torven from TAKP to get some input from him on this and truthfully I didn't even know that this also applied to 56+ rogue/monk's till he brought it up. While I can't post his gigs of parses he did confirm the validity of this report.

Anyways I don't believe this ever really affected much till the new chardok as there simply weren't that many mobs of such high level.

A couple of my pieces of evidence have people suggesting it was 57+ where this occurred but I believe the evidence from many 56 mobs I've presented overrules that. Parses from EQMac back this up evidently.

Monk NPCs straight up just don't enrage at all on P99. Yetarr comes to mind as a mob that is supposed to enrage but doesn't here for whatever reason.

I'm not sure I ever saw this bug report.

This can be done without much effort, but I'd like to know whether there are any warrior, rogue, or monk npcs that are level 56 or higher and should not enrage.

I can't find a single one. Also, to add to this, level 66+ NPCs are supposed to innately dual wield (CT and Innoruuk are missing this), and monk NPCs past a certain level (not sure which level, all I know is that it's higher than 57 and at most 65) are supposed to innately triple attack, so Telkorenar, Cekenar, Lord Kreizenn, Vyldin Flamereaver, Malteor Flamecaller, and A Lava Defender should all have triple attack on top of whatever else they have, which they currently don't. So monk flurry drakes in ToV for example should be able to hit you up to 8 times in a single combat round.

Actually, thinking on this more, I think it's level 60 that monk NPCs are supposed to innately gain triple attack, since that's when monk players get it.

Most of the posts in the first post here are from beyond Velious.

That being said: I do believe all Monk, Rogue and Warrior mobs level 56+ had the ability to enrage, but I wasn't able to find anything to confirm this.

There might be some remnants of this in classic client decompiles, a lot of server side stuff was buried in those.

I don't think it can be tested on live anymore unfortunately, pretty sure at least old school mobs had enrage removed, never saw a single enrage when farming

The mechanic was probably entirely removed since they didn't want literally everything enraging after so many level increases
