I believe hyphodruid boy stole 4k from me. One month ago my character Tucka was happy and in friendly druids. Even though i was only a 29 enchanter, I worked hard and camped to save up 4k for jboots. Hyphodruidboy took the 4k, and informed me i would be turning in a sword, which he gave me. Then hastens spawned and ran off and i pointed it out to him. He told me to hail him to get him to stop and when he wouldnt stop i gave hastens the sword thinking that was how to get him to stop. Then Hypho said that was the MQ component and I screwed it up. After like 10 minutes of him staring at me i deleted my character. A day or 2 later I petitioned to have my character back. It took a month, but a month later, Tucka was back. When I asked hypho if i could get some of my money back or a ring and some gold, he said all that stuff was turned in ahead of time. My question is this. Does the log show he turned in the gold and ancient ring before tuckas timestamped deletion. If not, then a month later he lied, and stole the equivalent of like 3.5k, cause that would mean he only lost a sword. If you guys really wanta finally deal with hyphodruidboy, maybe take a look at that whole interaction.

Unclear if this is satire. If not, I suggest googling p99 j boots mq before paying for one and trying to do it. Good luck on your petition!

You did mess up the quest. You are to hail Hasten to start the interaction, not Hypho. So that is the hard part, getting Hasten to stop. What happened is you turned in the Rapier first, and when Hypho was turning in the Ring and gold, Hypho ended up completing the quest, not you. Hypho lost his Ring. That Ring is what is worth the 4K in plat, he spent hours on a waiting list and camping for in OoT. That is why he is resistant on giving you back any money would be my guess. It was your error.

My suggestion is try joining an active guild, OP. Text is the language this game was designed around and a guild that uses /guildsay just for chat was a massive part of the classic appeal since it was built in an era before discord or common adoption of VoIP. You learn things by reading too without necessarily chatting, all within one's own comfort level.
They would have I believe pointed out what happened to you in-game which is by not understanding what you were doing you messed up the MQ. It's lamentable but that's classic and unless something has changed the server guides don't reimburse or entertain MQ failures. Edit: Respect to Engages but if FD on green is like on blue then no wonder dude is posting on the forum it's why I left

Kinda weird that a person making money selling MQs doesn't go over the procedure first, should be a macro at this point. I've got numerous MQs done and we always go over the procedure first before doing anything just to be on the safe side.
We don't even know from this post if hyphy actually turned his stuff in or if they just lost the rapier. Technically tucka could have salvaged it by turning in the gold? There's always someone to defend him but hyphydruidboy and his other toons are at best sketchy AF.

I would assume he lost his ring, since all MQs work by the customer doing the final turn-in in order to receive the item.
Not everyone is familiar with how MQs work, especially jboots is a lot of player's first time doing a MQ. Sellers should be aware of that and make it clear that they will do the turn-in first, then type "Go" or whatever to clearly indicate when it's the buyer's turn. Buyer has to take some responsibility too, but I'm sure it's a tough enough lesson.
