Using a Raincaller and 8 damage arrows (dex 109) my best non crit has been 110, and best crit a 175.

Hopefully Verant will do something with fletching like they did with tailoring, maybe allow fletchers to create some nice bows with some droppable/questable items (Hmm a bit off topic there but oh well)

This should make early out of era logs from any ranger under 55 money in the bank.

Of course not sure if there were any general melee patches to increase damage, but can be easily checked. I'll see about taking a peek for six months into 2002

Didn't see any melee buff patches during Luclin. Only things I can think of were equipment mods, not sure what existed for ranger damage bonus for archery tho?

When did rangers originally receive crit chances with archery? Was it always available, and if so, what level?

I'm seeing discrepancy of level 12 (like warriors), and level 17.

Something else that appears to be missing regarding archery is the
'Soandso was hit by non-melee for X points of damage.'
preceding the
'You hit soandso for X points of damage.'

Ranger and rogue crits went live with the 8-31-99 patch. The 8-26-99 test server patch notes explicitly mention level 12 for ranger and rogue.
