Since we're on the subject of fixing bows, it should also probably be mentioned that bows are incorrectly using STR instead of DEX to determine their damage on P99 currently.

A consideration as well, how do rooted dragons come into play with damage since it negates the thanked aspect?

Right now on P99 I'm pretty sure rooted dragons don't trigger the stationary double damage bonus, which really sucks.

THAT'S what I'm talkin about. Now if it only:

1) Lasted 5 Mins instead of 2.
2) Reset more often than every 72 mins.
3) Was available in a lower (less dmg) discipline in pre 50+ lvls.

You ought to see the stats on the ranger quest bow from Plane of Sky. It's this good but True Shot discipline is NOT required.

Of course, you have to first take down the Noble Dojorn for the Efreeti War bow. It's a trade in item for the quest bow

The following thread contains a link to logs for a ranger using primal bow, but that link has so far proven to be inaccessible, despite trying a few workarounds. Perhaps someone else will have better luck. That said, it's most likely the same logs from above, with the ranger being Deleroach and the max crit mentioned being 729.

That ranger was using Trueshot, so I doubt even we could match his critical... at least I assume. Gives you reason to finally give rangers a little respect, eh? Well, look on the bright side, it's only 1% of the entirety of the class, I can spare that much respect. Heh.

THE DISCIPLINE OF TRUESHOT
Class: Ranger
Level obtained: 55
Duration: 2 minutes.
Re-Use Delay: 72 minutes.
Re-Use Delay at Level 60: 67 minutes.

Discipline Description:
This discipline delivers up to two times the max bow damage with an increased hit probability.

This discipline lasts for 2 minutes, and has a base reuse time of 72 minutes.

This discipline will only be available if you have purchased and registered the Velious expansion.

Non-ranger bow damage is looking much better - it is essentially the same as the Nina logs previously posted using the same level, weapon, stats and npc targets.

There is something wrong with ranger archery damage though. For example, in a brief test, double damage targets seem to take less damage than moving targets. It also seems that Trueshot 'works' for non-double hits but not for double-damage hits.

I don't want to apply a general fix for archery without considering rangers. So, more testing to do.

If there are any ranger logs, of non-Trueshot damage, that would help.

When you say ranger logs, do you need in game p99 testing or in era historical context?
