Low level rewards as requested above, these are IN ORDER and you can fully cycle them as many times as needed, just be safe with LORE items.
I found this out by doing the quest with a level 37 Monk.

Appears that the Chapter 5 task no longer results in a gift upon turning in the brooch from Gaurd Lammel. Just fyi in case anyone else was going to use that gift to turn in for the chapter 6 task.

Well, we are in the home stretch with less than 48 hours to go in the event! I decided to write this up at the end of the winter holiday event to allow me to capture everything I experienced throughout. It took me some time to gather my thoughts and feelings about it to share. This might be long, so bear with me…
Personally, I loved the event. Nilbog, DesterWindall, Blistig and the rest of the team did an amazing job with not only the story and lore for the event (I hope everyone read the chapters along with the NPC conversations), but also in encouraging the player-base to revisit some oft-forgotten or avoided locations in game: looking at you Permafrost and Tower of Frozen Shadow (ToFS or as many have come to call it…The Bottleneck or the tower from hell). Now a little backstory: Myself and countless others have spent time in ToFS prior to the event even being announced: hunting and farming and really getting to know the zone and its many secrets. Along with that came the long process of getting fully keyed, something that could take hours if not days depending on your RNG. So yes, the grind in ToFS is real. Once the event got underway, others and I managed to complete the ToFS portion of the event early and very quickly, having a bit of an upper hand being keyed and while the tower hadn’t exceeded fire code regulations. As I completed that final turn in, I felt that everyone deserved a shot at the rewards no matter what level or skill…everyone! This was a holiday event, developed for the community, for EVERYONE, to take part in and enjoy. I could see ToFS being the roadblock that would force many people to abandon the quest and just move on. And so, I decided to turn off my DaP taxi sign for the event and turn down all port requests, forgo advancing any alt, or farm for any loot; instead focusing solely on that ominous dark tower looming within the Iceclad Ocean. What I found after my turn-in floored me: within several hours of the event starting, a zone that would normally have a population you could count with one hand was now over 50+. Every mob on every floor completely cleared. People running around looking for any sign of undead life to snuff out. People stuck on floors with no way up. Many more unfamiliar with the zone mechanics. Absolute chaos. Several of us started calling out, offering our keys to help shuffle people up the many floors as needed. And for the first day that is all it was, making sure people got to the floors they needed without having to spend potential hours grinding for a key just to move to the next floor. Then, that first day turned into another and another. Floor 3 was clearly the bottleneck, preventing many from truly getting to the end of the quest, there was nothing we could do about that, but the shuttling continued. I was determined to get as many people moved around as possible and as quickly as possible. I couldn’t do anything about the drops on 3, but I could ensure that the other floors went smoothly and people weren’t locked out by not having a key or having to spend more time farming for them. OOCs, Shouts, Tells: messages came through all day asking for support: support that was gladly given with nothing asked in return. Despite spending entire days in the zone, time flew by, conversations and jokes lightened the mood despite what was occurring up on 3. Many people that were helping those first few days departed after some time, while others stayed and one name deserves a huge shoutout: Persemony! She did an amazing job as well with floor movements as well as taking the time to provide crucial rezz’s to those in need. This was a community event, and the community truly came together. By day four, something truly magical happened: something just seemed to click, and the community started to band together within the tower. It is something that really stood out to me. I had just completed several trips up and down the tower and needed a quick medd, and that’s when the shouts came in…at the worst possible time: someone up on 4 went down due to multiple roaming mobs crisscrossing at the landing pad at the worst possible time, including Amontehepna. I reached out for assistance within the tower to see if anyone could offer a rezz, explaining what happened and that the landing pad on 4 was dirty with multiple mobs. That is when I really saw this community band together. Not only did a cleric respond, several other players joined in: forgive me for forgetting your names, but you know who you are: 4-5 players were up on the pad clearing it while the cleric rezzed the fallen soul. Everyone stayed providing support in case any repops or additional pathers decided to show up while the rezz sickness remained. Everyone stayed until the fallen player was back on their feet and good to hunt again. Each player that went to 4 from 3 acted selflessly: each one stepped out of their wait list lines to come up to 4 and support another member of the community that had fallen on bad luck. This became a recurring thing as time went on, players assisting others in need on 4 and it trickled down to the lower levels as well: players clearing floors, assisting others in obtaining pages faster and without having to worry about tangling with mobs higher level than them. But through it all, the request for floor moves continued. And so, I stayed until the very end, continuing to provide what I could, never asking for anything in return, just wanting to help everyone through the event and allow them to have a chance at the final reward. To the P99 Green Community: It was great meeting so many of you throughout this event in ToFS: many of you may never have spoken with otherwise. The Green community is really amazing, and I want to thank each and every one of you for not only your words of kindness and support throughout the event but also to those who went out of their way during the event to help others. And I know there were many of you: Whether you were within ToFS helping, Permafrost or the open areas, there were many of you who assisted in different capacities and I want to thank all of you: without your help I am sure many people would not have been able to complete this event. So thank you all and I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] | ||
