Is the Dragoon Dirk classic?

my first "good" weapon was a dragoon dirk from ambassador dvinn in crushbone - i was so pumped to rock that super low 23 delay for a whopping 6 damage. slap some bracers of battle on and patchwork armor and its off to the races

Dragoon Dirk is the type of item that is inextricably linked to an era of EQ that is so damn warm and fuzzy in my memories. Cool item.

Def. got it killing Dorn in NRo, but I do not recall it being that good. The value was in being a magic weapon and the satisfaction killing that bastid who often showed up green and kicked bandit campers' butts.

There was definitely a time period where it was considered a good item. I remember being so triggered when I saw people wearing it in their range slot because I needed it for my main hand! Back then we also considered Langseax and Silvery War Axe to be VERY good items. Times has definitely changed. That's one part of EQ that no emulator will ever be able to replicate really.

I feel like the rares are spawning more, and their items are dropping more. Maybe it is a self fulfilling prophecy though - after 10 years of gearflation instead of everyone relying on silvery war axes it is much easier to clear content and therefore get more drops.

I view berserkers as a 100% classic class (despite being added in, what God? OoW?) they went to great efforts to back fit like planar armor and stuff. I always felt it was a shame that prog servers didn't include zerkers from day 1.

They had some nice epices (but I understand they have since been nerfed/reworked?)
