I messed up my faction and can't buy spells!

Bandit sashes are a definite no no as tht owns your faction, gnoll fangs and rabid pelts too but prolly not that right?

I think you need moonshine or whatever is the byproduct of gnoll fangs. 100 of those all prolly fine. They are worth 1 silver. Haven't played in ages but thought could FD ender?

Iksar Necro. I have been in Qeynos Hills for several levels killing the humanoids near Surefall Glade entrance, with the occasional trip to Qeynos Aqueducts to vendor.

Last night, someone asked for help killing Varsoon and without thinking, I ran over and helped out. The next time I went to the vendors as a newly leveled 29, they wouldn't sell to me! Conning dubious. (also I died and deleveled trying to get back LOL. It was a classic EQ moment for sure)

Varsoon was the only other factioned enemy I killed, and the wiki said he was a faction hit of 30. So I killed Neclo Rheslar who is a faction boost for the same ones 3 times (wiki says 10 faction gain) but the vendors are still dubious.

Am I on the right track? Should I just keep farming Neclo or is there another way to fix this? Thanks for any advice

If you just need to buy spells you can make a new level 1 with the correct faction, drop trade some plat items like peridots to the level 1, buy the spells on the level 1, and drop trade the spells back to the Necro.

In case you don't know, drop trading is where you drop the item on the ground, camp, and pick it up on another char. Just be warned that items on the ground have a 6 min timer or so before they disappear.

Thanks so much for all the help everyone. Farmed Neclo and the nearby guards for a few hours and now I'm back in the good graces of the sewer goths. Gotta love this game and the random side quests it always seems to throw at you :P

Edit: For anyone interested in the rep side of things, I checked my faction after killing Neclo 6 times and it didn't appear to be fixed. I would guess I ended up killing him another 6 to 8 times after that and my faction was fixed. So the -200 and +17 figures mentioned earlier seem feasible.

Correct. We have no way of 100% knowing what the faction hits are on P99. We can approximate based on assumptions and long faction grinds, such as assuming an Iksar Necro starts max KOS with X faction and then killing the same mob over and over until you are threatening, but even then that's an estimate because I don't think we know for sure that Necro started as max KOS.

The starting race/class values for faction is what I mean was published/released.

On P99 we do not know what the faction hit numbers are. We can only speculate and approximate.

Guard Shilster in North Karana has an easy hand in quest to fix evil Qeynos factions. Hand him 5 gold at a time and it'll bump up corrupt guards, bloodsabers, circle of unseen hands, and kane bayle. It'll also damage good qeynos guards, but that is easy to undo just by killing blackburrow gnolls. I think you just have to be non-kos to corrupt guards to do the quest for him.

Okay. I speculate that you can just use the ZAM/Quarm values and you're more likely to be right than with the Wiki values.

Are they different? I would think both ZAM and Quarm would be based on the live values, and as such both would be equally wrong on P99.
