Yes.

My sister has Celiac's, and she had several symptoms from it but had no idea what the cause was. When she finally discovered she had Celiac's (and could avoid those symptoms by avoiding gluten) it was a great relief for her.
Oh. It helps her buy more corn and corn accessories then?

How deep does this rabbit hole go...

As opposed to eating products with wheat gluten in them, yes.

It's the same as how people who are allergic to peanuts are helped when they don't to eat products with peanuts in them. It's really not a hard concept to grasp.

OK Corn, you win. I will attend gluten sensitivity training.

You can be against the massive subsidies for the corn industry, but still not be against people with a disease (that has nothing to do with corn). The world's a complex place [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I know it's polite to say the problem is corn subsidies and not the corn addiction.

Without the subsidies, we wouldn't have (or at least we'd have a lot less) "corn addiction".

The main (though certainly not the only) effect of all those subsidies is to make corn cheaper. People consume cheap things more than they consume expensive things, and so they consume more corn when its price is artificially low.

What about when the corn addicts vote for someone to take away their corn subsidies?

Is that illegitimate?

What's the problem.
