Right now Blue is in a custodial state.

The only reason this idea falls apart is if there isn't enough population to fill one server and charatcter transfers would reveal that within a month.

People that left would definitely come back for a new server! A new server isn't just "fresh feelings", it's a chance to play a class that is group oriented with others that are leveling up as well. It's a chance to see zones that you would never see today, due to everyone taking the MM>COM>KC route and there barely being enough people in those zones to fill a group.

It's about forging new relationships with other players. It's about getting to experience the game again the way it was meant to be played- In a group! There just aren't enough players on today to experience this. But players would come back for a fresh experience.

However, with the release of Monsters and Memories being imminent, I believe that the staff here missed a golden opportunity to release a new server. Even if they did release it now, the population would fall off in a couple of months when M&M releases. Whether or not you personally feel this will happen is irrelevant and you can experience this by involving yourself into one of the play-tests as you will see old friends from this server as well as meet many others that have played here for years, but fell off due to the staleness.

But do not minimize the importance of starting fresh on a new server. Yes, there are players that just come for the "newness" and then fall off, but there are many of us that would love to experience the game again with all of the low level zones bustling, and the opportunity to find a group and just grind out levels upon levels the way the genre was meant to be played.

New server, I don't see the point of asking for a merge if you want things to be fresh. We don't want people raiding at day 1, we want people to level up, group up together, make/meet new friends, etc.

You do both dude. They merge the servers so they don't have to pay for 4 servers instead of 3. They use their own money after all.
