![]() When a warrior has no weapon equipped in either hand, they do not dual wield. Unlike the monk that attacks with both hands with no weapons. Also if you place a weapon in the main hand and no weapon in offhand, the warrior still does not dual wield and attack with both hands.
However, if you put a shield in the warriors off hand, the warrior starts gaining skill levels in dual wield even if the main hand has no weapon. It also looks like warriors hand to hand doesnt benefit from high strength in damage output. It only ever does 1-2 damage. I only tested this with a low lvl warrior though, and 139 str.

![]() Fist is a DMG 1 weapon (I think about 35 delay). At low levels your damage multiplier will be capped at x2, hence the low hits. At higher levels it can have a damage bonus added too. That said, the offhand fist be handy when berserk with a two handed weapon as unequipping to offhand a fist will have a fair chance to interrupt or stun.
The reason you’re seeing more skill ups than swings could be that your skill is so low you’re more likely to get a skill up than to swing. Getting skill ups while carrying a torch or shield is a known issue, but well spotted. This bug makes sword and board handy to level 10. I’m sure I’ve seen offhand fist dw attempts on higher level warriors while single handing a one handed weapon in primary (e.g while swapping around items). Are you enjoying war?

![]() I like all the characters i play, even mages when they have been nerfed to obscurity are still marginally fun.
As for the warrior offhanding hand to hand, I have checked it several times and never seen them do it. Thats why Im thinking its a bug

![]() What level? Maybe its level gated. Or perhaps its the race that matters. Mine is an iksar warrior and I tested this starting at lvl 13 when I unlocked dual wielding.

![]() I did a test at lvl 20. During an entire fight, with near max dual wielding skill, I saw my character punch 1 times. This seems very low compared to dual wielding weapons.
So it does happen, but for some reason its a rare occurance, and maybe thats a bug?
