Yeah, pretty much.

Difference with THJ comes down to 3 factors though:

a) They customized the content, building off Daybreak's existing IP to create a new game experience
b) They were wildly successful with 26k+ in their Discord
c) They took donations, which DBG claims are really for profit, revenue generation rather than donations for a "pet project"

that's hard to argue against as THJ, or any emulated server.
