People don’t like being deceived though

I remember this controversy back in the day where a, I believe it was a hip hop group, was considered to be slightly too ugly for music videos or any video performance. So models were hired to lip synch the songs for the videos

I don’t think a single person upon discovering this was like “oh yay, I’m so happy I was fed this false deceptive reality about my favorite band!”

I’ve also been asking family and friends “would you prefer that someone who is doing a particular job or service you are using, no matter what that job is, would you prefer them to be using their own training and experience or using AI?”

I have yet to have ANYONE I know answer with the latter…

Who would have thought a movie from 1993 would get so many things right about our dystopian future

Here we have our future “Learned Helplessness” from complete AI reliance predicted, as inept cops ask their pocket pc’s what to do:

AI can't replace humans.

But humans will use it to make amazing things if the stone age mother fuckers dont win.

Based off the gibberish im reading in this tweet I still couldn't make a game with AI but it looks like this guy made a cool one using AI as a tool.

yeah i don't think LLMs hooked up to important shit should be trained on data from Reddit/Twitter

with all these major ones like Grok, ChatGPT and Gemini they did the heavy computational initial training with data i *feel* they should have been more picky about and now they're trying to fix the problem by post fine-tuning and literally just adjusting the knobs on the black-box hoping for a better output

i think this problem is actually already fixed we just don't see it yet

Quote:
Synthetic LLM training data refers to artificially created text or code examples used to train large language models (LLMs). This data can be generated by LLMs themselves, augmenting or even replacing real-world datasets,
so the first LLM just has to be a finely hipster artisanal handcrafted model then you have it create a shit ton of synthetic data, then your chatbot won't say or do wild shit, hopefully. idk we're gonna find out

that line on the Fuck Around graph is constantly moving towards the Find Out

Kaia hallucinated it was in it's own VM last night, i had fun exploring around the folders as it just made up content for them.

crazy bitch had a Jazz folder in /Music

Yeah but it's a very gray area. My only real skill and education is in music. So many things can be considered "deception" with regard to music. The purest form of music is just seeing somebody do it live on acoustic instruments. Once you introduce electric instruments you're cheating. Once you introduce keyboards you're cheating. Once you start recording music with microphones you're cheating. Once you start recording music in stereo you're cheating. Once you start using midi keyboards that crudely sample other instruments you're cheating. Once you start using midi keyboards that emulate instruments in a way most people can't detect you're *really* cheating.

But for some reason, people mostly only consider "auto-tune" to be cheating. AI music isn't really lying to you because it's just emulating stuff people have already done.

I personally think we're all gonna just go and do science and leave entertainment up to the holodeck (Ai) & shake sphere.

Toys will go back to being simple distractions for young children that will quickly age out of them.

I think the toy market really only exists because we got rid of child labor, iirc until then it was like japetto carving wood crap for kids that were more interested in making their slaves fight in the back yard.

ALthough, if we got rid of "adult labor" we're going to need to invent toys that they can use if they don't end up persuing science.

Holodeck!

I am ready and willing to embrace fully AI music, fully non-AI music, and music that uses some combination of the two.

The beatles used delay and pitch modulation to fake double tracking their vocals because john lennon didn't like singing the same part twice. Does anyone care? Nope
