Yes and mods are not clone of a full product. Don't get me wrong. I've certainly played my fair share of these servers and am grateful they've existed to burn my life years at a time; however, I like the idea of ephemeral things. If there was a 2 or 3 year period of my life that got devoted to playing EQ heavily and then switched to Lineage 2 for a couple years, I think that would be enough MMO addiction for a lifetime. The games would naturally die and people would move on with the memories. Private servers are necromancy and necromancy is reviled for a reason. Let the dead rest in peace.
