No. Server reqs are much lower than people expect. You could a P99 server on a toaster.

i wasnt referring to server requirements. i was referring to the amount of people that will be active on those servers once there is a new p99 server. they can remain blue and green for all i care but merging is not hard. duplicate names just have to rename.

oh? are you referring to Quarm? where it's not even everquest anymore? i quit that junk back when manastones kept dropping.
Doesn't TAKP go through PoP or just Luclin?

Point being, we'll never get a P99 server that goes through Luclin or PoP (although I'd love P99 through velious with AAs and PoP raids). Believe they may be contractually restricted on that anyway.

I don't see why not. I think P99 could actually do it right.

Imagine how much more compounded the top heavy server that lives for years at the end of its progression would be if AAs were added. P99 would play more like THJ than classic EQ. IMO that's the biggest reason why the progession stopped where it did.

And you'd have manaburn deathsquads to rival with. And chanters with dire charm because we all know chanters need a power boost. I don't think people asking for that grasp the repercussions this would have on p99.

Because I think their contract actually says they won't go past Velious and that was one of the big critical points for the IP holder to allow them to operate.

Workaround: Go backwards in Norrath's timeline, so it predates classic, and release that as custom content.

that's unironically the playstation 2 mmo and there is a emu project for it

https://www.projectreturnhome.com/

most the zones and dungeons even look better than classic eq and the raiding is harder

Nobody plays TAKP anymore and quarm still has less players than p99 blue and green combined. The heroes journey has a ton of players, nearly half the total number of daybreak's everquest live total daily average player base but not everyone wants to play a custom everquest. I played it and it was definitely fun but it is not what i am going to invest my time into for the long run and i think most the people there would also leave for a new P99 server regardless if velious locked or PoP locked. P99 with a server that does unlock luclin and PoP would bring all walks of life everquest players to P99. P99 has been the greatest servers. I even enjoyed P99 when it had all the bugs back in 2009. A new P99 server that only goes to velious would still be the greatest server yet imo, but if luclin and PoP is guaranteed for later, it would be the best of the best of all times.
