Talking Half-Life 3 soon?

I keep getting news on my phone where it says that Half-Life 3 is in the final stages of development. Now knowing the ending of Half-Life: Alyx, the GMan gives Gordon a crowbar so doesn't that mean that Valve is actually working on Half-Life 3 in secret? I don't think they are working on another VR spin-off like Alyx 2. That would be disappointing for me.

Do you think Half-Life 3 is in the making? What else would they be doing right now? They finished the Steam Deck and they can't just be making Dota 2 and CS2 updates all the time. They have to work on something new, right?

Games today couldn't be more different than they were when half life 1 and 2 came out.

It'd really be more of a remake than part 3 IMO.

It's Valve I'm sure they can still chug out a decent game with some new mechanics. I highly doubt it would be revolutionary at all but I'm hoping they can give us a great Half-Life 2 keyboard/mouse type of game with insane graphics and good storyline continuation! I actually love the Combine. The Universal Union and the Iksar are actually my two favorite videogame things. I really like how the Combine is so practical and just works with the littlest effort. One thing I kinda dislike about Half-Life 2 is Alyx's looks.

I think Gordon Freeman deserves a hotter woman than Alyx but maybe they wanted to keep it realistic because in such a world you are probably a little bit malnourished or not on par in health terms. They could make Alyx hotter to be honest but maybe I'm just a degenerate speaking here.

Id have no expectation it'd be good.

That last one (the VR game) I have never, ever even seen anyone clip from it or even talk about it.

Those episodic games they just gave up on.

They have no ability to make games at all. Sell games sure. Make? No way.

I agree I do not understand how anyone could like that VR game. VR is just a failed technology. Keyboard/Mouse has always been the best and this will never change.

But I think Valve can still make a good Half-Life 3 they just haven't tried it yet. Or do you think they can only make Dota 2 and CS2 updates now? They just need to have a good quality control before they dare release a game called Half-Life 3.

i have the playstation VR2 thing, and i'll tell you, it's not the best ~$300 i've ever spent.

i tried No Man's Sky with that thing, and about fifteen minutes later and a mild bout of nausea, switched back to the regular ps5 controller. the climbing one was okay but it was just that, climbing in the horizon universe.

I thought the Half-Life 3 ending is a beer with Barney and then sex with Alyx.

Not joking, you're more likely to get a new P99 green than a Half Life 3.

Portal 2 was so amazing so maybe they can channel that, but i feel like they just gave up making games 110% after that.

My guess is they would try to "capture what made those games cool" instead of just "know how to make a cool game" because it's all new employees there. like the last halflife was made what, 20 years ago?
