But those are supposedly the best for running, and that is the drawback is that less material tends to wear out quicker. I’ve heard the serious racers will even buy ones that deteriorate so much they are only good for a single race, or maybe only a few. I dunno though, I’m stick in with my Ghost [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Serious racers are so serious about a personal best. If you're getting knee/joint pain while running in an older pair of shoes they've probably lost their bounce and you're more likely to pick up an injury.

That feel of a new pair and walking like you're bouncing in low gravity is great but the sheer cost of more than 1-2 good pairs a year adds up :s

Oh my God new shoes is like running on a cloud isn’t it? It’s like pulling on a still-hot pair of boxer briefs right from drier on a cold day. Freakin bliss [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Yea they all have a similar mark because God knew they’d all turn out to be dicks. That’s God working in not so mysterious ways

Went on a decent hike with the gal I’m dating, her pick. About 2.5-3miles in one way. A decent amount of scrambling although fairly flat overall, pretty scenic. She did much better than expected and even wanted to jog the last flat part back. Got claustrophobic in one part, I was asking “has the fire department ever had to come un-wedge someone out of this part? Think skinny thoughts, think skinny thoughts….”
