getting fired from fox news was the best thing that ever happened to tucker

he's definitely still tucker, but he's able to do some actual journalism now instead of being a cog in the narrative machine

Opensource was a paradigm before it was a coined phrase.
That paradigm led to the quick implimentation of networking protocols and the various file systems some of which are still in use today.
NFS for example is still used in many consumer file servers. Original opensource.
Tcp/ip stack.
Many Web protocols etc.

Shared knowledge accelerated development.
Closed and proprietary softwares and protocols stagnated it. But it sure made those companies a shit ton of cash.

It is very difficult to explain to someone who does not care to do their own research. It is nuanced. Using opensource to make money is possible. You just cant claim the bits you used as your own. Your addon is open to whatever lisence you release it under.

You are correct though, there are waaaay too many versions of various gpl/copyleft. It is bullshit.
