Default A whirling dervish

Was a whirling dervish a mob in Oasis?

Don’t know if my memory is playing tricks on me but I remember a mob called “a whirling dervish” in either Oasis of Marr or North Ro? From way back when I first played EQ in 2000. Or am I conflating that memory with another game or just DnD from thst time?

There's whirling rock dervishes in Lavastorm.

But i dont remember any in marr or north ro.

But a mystical named one in the oasis would be a cool sight! Very untamed djin feeling.

I wonder if you're brain is just merging your memory of the rock dervish, and these guys in the oasis/noro?

No swirling dervish in Oasis.

There was a mob that whirled and changed form to something like a dark elf spy.
On death the normal dervish emoted something like cant.. hold.. form. Then transforms into an extra tough blue con of similar lvl to dervishes.
Handed me my arse on live. May have been either a super rare or an event.

You mean the named darkelf dervish cuthroat in No Ro that can drop the dragon dirk? Boyle or something is his name?

I saw him on green launch and got him and a dragoon dirk at like level 12 was awesome!

Great luck!

There is a rare spawn called 'Spinflint' which drops 'Whirling' items in Beholder's maze:

Whirling dervish is a card from magic the gathering, another popular game of 1999

Little muddy halflings wearing whirling Christal's on their head is so innocent and classic.
