![]() Hello,
I have recently discovered Project 1999 and am planning on rolling a Barbarian Shaman on the Green Server. I played a Barbarian Warrior back on The Nameless around 99-2003 and am eager to try a new class and kill some gnolls in BB. If I remember correctly Shaman are good at soloing, duoing, and in larger groups as well. Is this the same on Project 1999? Will I be able to find groups easily as a Shaman? Also, any suggestions for guilds to join for a new player? I am keen to find at least one person to duo with, and ideally a group of people to play with regularly. Thanks!

![]() Self Found is a guild where you use what you are able to attain yourself or in groups, no buying equipment unless its possible for you to get within reason, great for new players since your gonna be that way anyway, just like old times lol. You can always play twinks later in other guilds.
Shaman are good in any situation, solo, duo or group, this is just like classic, so what went then, goes now. If you would like to join, do /who all Self and ask a member for invite or try /who all Jazzoo for me Thanks

![]() Sounds like you're well versed on everfrost (20 years ago), on P99 you won't run into many people out that way so I would expect to solo until you relocate.
In general there isn't a big population of people grouping and leveling as most people leveling characters at this point in the server are leveling one of the many alts they created and people are typically loading up new characters full of velious loot and soloing all the way up (twinking is a whole other level here compared to what you might remember of live). To the extent that people are grouping there is typically only 1-2 zones for any given level range that people go to group but like you mentioned shaman is good for any type of gameplay. I would just expect it to be more solo heavy than what your past experiences were. I personally would recommend rolling Ogre over Barbarian, the frontal stun immunity to me is the best racial ability in the game, the starting zone is more friendly for connecting to the populus, and Barbarian night vision is rough to put it mildly. My very first toon was a barbarian shaman back on live and I'm happy I rolled an Ogre shaman on P99. There are many guilds to choose from, I would recommend saving that decision until you roll your toon and start interacting with the player base. Some are more focused on leveling, some on community, some on raiding, theres a place for everyone.
