IMO you don't really need to track. Each song lasts 18 seconds and each song takes 3 seconds to cast, with no overlap you would be able to play 6 songs before repeating without drop off, in reality there is always going to be some overlap or waste in between.

As a newbie bard most people can probably get up to 3 songs in a twist (missed notes and practice make it harder to do more early on). Eventually you get up to being able to twist 4-5 songs before starting the pattern over.

I say all that to say the best way to track your songs is to stay active with twisting to the next song and learning how many songs you can twist. Its extremely rare that a song effect falling off before replaying is a major problem so push your limits, its better to add that one extra song to your mix and have the effects fall off 1 second before you recast then reduce your rotation by 1 song in almost every situation.

You'll find by working on your most important skill, twisting, that the timing of everything will be natural and not something that requires thought.
