2025 new p99 Gold server

Enchanter is my favorite class, but the raw ez mode potential of necromancer in classic is prob more appealing to me.

The first time around I was a Cleric and it sucked because you spend a lot of time LFG since no groups want an extra Cleric. You can't really solo much (I mean I solo'd some things, but nothing compared to a Necromancer). I like having the ability to log in and do something meaningful even if I can't get a group.

Also ... making plat on a Cleric was really rough. Like people offering me 100p to run across the planet to resurrect someone? My necromancer can kill all the guards in EFP or Misty Thicket in like 3 minutes and make more plat than that, lol.

Also Shamans are a good class, and even fun to play in Classic, but they aren't as badass as people think they are. That happens in Kunark really.

In classic my Shaman's pet wasn't really badass enough to tank mobs in most dungeons, and you OOM fast casting your DoTs. Meanwhile Magicians, Necromancers, and Enchanters plow through the same content relatively easy.

Like it's common to see Shamans die in LGUK, even on P99 Blue in 2025 (I just pulled one corpse lol). Even my Cleric had an easier time down there than my Shaman because he at least had Lull and IVU.

So yeah, not doing cleric/shaman this time around, unless it's just an alt and for fun. I would much rather main something that has real potency outside of group situations.

Also not to get people mad at me, but I might twink a Rogue. I remember in the early days of P99 Green some of the WORST Rogues and SKs I've ever played with, I mean people I actually silently blacklisted from my groups were getting into the top guild (whose name I wont mention), simply because there was a huge shortage of them.

I'm not a rager either btw, I've almost never got into a fight with other players in game, but there was a couple of Rogues who were so bad that I just didnt want to group with them anymore. Like using that SBD that casts engulfing darkness on targets that we are trying to CC, naturally drawing all the aggro, causing me to go OOM as a Cleric.

Same Rogue waited like 2 hours to show up in Sol B... he was in WC and said he couldn't come to Sol B until he got a teleport to Lavastorm, so we waited forever. Like dude it's a 4 minute run... please. So then he gets there, and straight up refuses to pull and makes me pull as a Cleric instead, lol. His name was Frontal. He was a dwarf. After that I was just like nah, I'm not playing with this dude anymore. Was the same rogue using the SBD to break mez and pull aggro on all the mobs and causing us to almost wipe because healers are constantly OOM trying to keep him alive.

Meanwhile he gets invited to the top guild while my friends playing more common classes got rejected by the same guild.

Then there was this SK, who like, straight up would try to pull lizards to the top of the pyramid in CT. He would somehow accidentally pull like 30+ lizards, then feign death on top of the group and let us all die. Which honestly, mistakes happen, that's one thing, but he would literally somehow start typing in group about how it's our fault that we're wiping ... as we're wiping, as he lays on the ground doing nothing. Like how is it our fault somehow that you just trained the F out of us and then FD'd us.

Like if he said nothing, I wouldnt have cared that much, especially the first time, but the second time it happened in like 30 minutes, I was just like nah, Im not grouping with this dude, this is terrible experience and frustrating. Flash forward two weeks later and he is also in the top guild on the server.

That's why I tell people... like being in the best guild on EQ doesn't mean a whole lot about your skill level lol.

That's some crazy stories about those rogues and SKs! I'm still laughing about Frontal and his 4-minute run drama. But for real, being in a top guild doesn't necessarily mean you're good. Skill level is one thing, but teamwork and game sense are just as important. If you do end up twinking a rogue, just don't be that guy, okay?

I think I am going to roll a Shaman on next iteration of a fresh P99 server. I've never really played one that significantly as a main so I'm saving that for the next server.

Never really played a Ranger either, but hybrids don't appeal to me that much.

It's worse than that. I remember one time I got all the way to Splitpaw (for some reason this is one of the scariest zones for me), only to find out that the people who wanted me to rez them didn't even have their corpses at the zone line, so I had to help pull. And it ended up turning into me having to rez 6 people. And I'm having to heal them as soon as I rez them to keep them from dying to low hp aggro. So I started a stopwatch and it took me about 10 minutes to meditate enough mana to rez just one person (no clarity, pre kunark etc.). And then the person doesn't even accept the rez because they were afk or whatever, so I just lost the mana. Over an hour of my life gone. I now just rez out of genuine kindness or if it's convenient / a friend. My days of journeying across the world in hopes of making plat from rez services is long over [You must be logged in to view images.
