This saying means that just like you usually can't smell your own body odor (BO), you might not be aware of a personal flaw or negative quality about yourself because you're too close to it; essentially, you can't objectively see your own shortcomings as others might.
this saying was invented before MMORPG gaming sessions i assume, i'm going to stop using it i guess. reminds me of a dope modest mouse lyric though "it's been agreed the whole world stinks, so no one's taking showers anymore"
also that Amy Goodman avatar is making me sad, used to listen to WBAI Democracy Now during the Bush years, sucks when your heroes turn out to be Russian assets.
