The fact home ownership also includes those chained to a mortgage makes the numbers skewed. Like how many get reposessed (god damn it whatever the word is for that). Forclose?
My 1st house in 1989 was AU$120000. Not flashy or new but built when hardwood was used and craftsman built them not the prefab crap we get now.
Spent $10K on bathroom and a bedroom renew. 2001 it sold for $500k.
We earnt $1k per week then. Now a house there is more like $750K.
My kids will likely never be able to own a mortgage let alone a home. They will prolly end up just killing me and living here. Lil bastards.
