Miscellaneous: small piece of high quality ore

Hail,
I'm currently trying to get the "piece of high quality ore" that
supposedly drops (rarely) in Runnyeye. I'm a 17th level Halfling Druid,
working on making the Halfling Cultural Sewing Kit.

Also: has anyone made the Vale Sewing Kit? Are there any other places
that "Piece of HQ Ore" drops? (I've found Bricks and Blocks in High Hold,
but not Pieces) Can you make Pieces from Bricks or blocks???

Runnyeye is the only place to get the small pieces.
They drop from the dazed goblins and up. Levels 17-22 or so.
You would need a full well organized party to hunt them at
your level. The drop is pretty rare only about 1 in 15 will have ore.

I do not think you can make the pieces from the larger bricks
but it may be possible.

My thanks to all who replied to this post. As an update, this weekend I was
able to purchase some of the ore (A piece of High Quality Ore) from 2 high
level players (40's I think) who were soloing in Runnyeye. I got 8 pieces
total, enough to make 4 tries at the sewing kit. I failed the first one
(smithing level 103) and have decided to wait until my smithing is up a bit
before trying again. I guess the kit is trivial at around 150.

High Quality Metal Bits
Smithing - This can only be made by Halfling Smiths, and must be made in the Rivervale forge. Combine two pieces of High Quality Ore and a Flask of Water. The High Quality Ore is occasionally found on Runney Eye goblins. It can also be found on goblins in Permafrost. This becomes trivial at a smithing skill of around 80.

Other link also mentioned thinking permafrost had this, but not sure if it was what people first hand verified

If there was a fix after a patch, some have mentioned it is a rare drop off a rare mob (some say Goblin Janitor?)

2002 (after chisel patch):

The required hq ore was a rare drop from a rare spawn in Runnyeye.
Now the pieces can be chiselled off a small block of hq ore, a drop
in Permafrost. So, I have been beating up gobs in Permafrost and
taking their stuff. However, no ore yet.

The gods of the game are wise. I cannot complete the leather work
without the special Vale sewing kit. To make the kit I need an ore
dropped, I have learned, only from the goblin janitor in Runnyeye. A
dungeon. I will have to find a group to help with that one, if I
cannot find anyone selling the stuff. Dungeons just don't work well
for solo druids, in my opinion.
