On Megaladon, check the Allakahazam link on the post you just linked. "This mob is a part of the new shaman epic from the OoW expansion."

On Vox, I'm not disputing Vox didn't have loot. They hadn't gotten around to deciding on her loot table. I was just saying that she and Naggy were never intended as unkillable mobs...the devs always thought they'd be killed just not as quickly as they were. The Sleeper was the one that SOE legitimately thought would never get killed.

Didnt read - but with Lord Nagafen being the server boss, it would get quite old very quickly

Some people on that post are mentioning about the original beta Megalodon in Lake Rathetear, which was just an oversized shark and had really bad pathing issues and was removed before live. The rest of the posts are either confused or adding in about the epic 1.5 Ancient Megalodon and its loot.

Were black sapphire and blue diamond something that were added later? Almost sure I saw patch note regarding blue diamond being added later during second half of Kunark, around time when the rest of epic (in addition to paladin) were added. I'm not sure if black sapphire was added with it during that patch or before, or has always existed.

Got it maybe I misread your post. I'd also note that the planes were in development well before Vox/Naggy were first killed. It wasn't their deaths that prompted the devs to think more "raid" type content was needed.

I vaguely remember this too, but there's no https://wiki.project1999.com/Patch%20Notes mentioning it ... although Verant liked to keep tradeskill recipes a big secret, so that doesn't prove anything.

I did find an old Wayback Machine cut of EQ Traders, supposedly from 1999, that shows both gems existing: https://web.archive.org/web/19991128...eqtraders.com/. Interestingly, they claim that there was no recipes for blue diamonds ... but also, that page mentions enchanted velium, which clearly didn't exist in 1999 ... so I think it's actually a later archive, and Wayback is just confused about dates.

But the fact that (by Velious) the tradeskill addicts on that site (and on Caster's Realm, the Enchanter site) hadn't yet figured out the recipes for Blue Diamonds at least strongly suggests that they were added in late Kunark.

Meaning could people craft things with them? unsure about blue diamond but certain black sapphire jewelry is craftable pre-Kunark.
