This is what happens when they read player suggestion threads like you see on the forums here.

The ESO developers have been running that game into the ground recently by following community feedback. Somehow by giving the casual/solo players everything they asked for the numbers of those players have been steadily declining. And I assume eventually TES VI will be released and with ESO evolving into a single-player RPG they will become their own biggest competition.
