There are spells that have no LoS check outdoors like Dispel line of spells and clickies

I dont know whats classic though, never played any caster classes back in the day

Actually, when I say there is NO line of sight check in outdoor zones , i mean for literally every spell in the game -- the only exceptions that would cause a spell failure is using a bolt direct damage spell and having the bolt hit the (lets say a sand dune in north ro) instead of the monster on the other side.

EVERY spell that is not a bolt style direct damage spell ignored ALL terrain and only required the caster to be in range. Again this was outdoor zones only.

Suggest finding evidence to corroborate that. Not calling you a liar, probably true. Bound to be posts of people talking about spell casting outdoors

https://thedruidsgrove.org/archive/eq/t-304.html seems to spell out when outdoor flagged areas started following "the rules"
