I simply passed on a doctor’s mention looking out for her but her knee jerk reaction was to include press.

No he isn't. His employees are. He was a good entrepreneur though. Or at least one of the small subset of pathological risk-takers who made it far enough to mostly be insulated from being completely destroyed by his own decisions.

Not a fan of Elon, but his degrees were in physics and mathematics, two of the hardest majors, and he was heavily involved in both the design and management of his engineering teams at both SpaceX and Tesla. He also knows several programming languages even though coding isn't his job.

If his employees posses better knowledge of how to actually do the things he does, they'd be him. Yes elon doesn't personally build every single rocket engine he ends up using, because that would be completely impossible. He understands the principles that make the entire enterprise function, and he has about a billion times more specific technical knowledge about his own products than most ceo's will ever have about theirs.

Also nobody had any problem with elon and would frequently venerate him until he said like one slightly off-script thing about some dumb leftist sacred cow, because the left is nothing if not myopically tribal.

Undergrad degrees in physics and mathematics are not something special. They are undergrad. His involvement in the production side was primarily with personnel and process improvement; the design part was "make it look like this", "make it open like this".

I'm not disputing that he is very bright, I'm sure he is. But he is not "the champion of multi planetary human existence, electric cars, renewable energy." lol. Somehow he's the champion of multi planetary human existence when we're no closer to a human going to Mars. Talking about something doesn't make you the champion of it.
