If I had to list the reasons because you insist: first, I think you talk big online but would be a wimp in an actual streetfight. I think you are not remotely physically imposing, nor do you have any good knowledge of how to physically subdue a suspect who is actively trying to hurt you. I don’t think you can even verbally sound imposing, considering cops have to practice their commanding “cop voice”, being imposing actually takes practice and experience. I think whatever firearms you have in your home are not handy, that you don’t practice with them, and you are just as likely to accidentally kill your wife as you are the suspect with them

I think in all likelihood you would attempt to flee a violent suspect trying to hurt you, but probably also not be able to do that because you don’t strike me as particularly athletic. The only positive I can give is I DO believe you would not try to run if your wife was with you, that you would fight to the death, which would likely result in first your death, then your wife’s

That’s why you need police. And if you actually practiced defending yourself and your family and ESPECIALLY if you experienced and defended actual violent attacks, you would gain an appreciation for what cops have to go through on the daily from first hand experiencing it
