I think it was supposed to be punishment for eating the forbidden apple - God's divine law of witness. You know, so people knew what went down. Crazy how he lived that long after eating an apple? Did you know that in Norse mythology, the gods gain their youth, vigor and near immortality from from the apples of Idun. That's a funny coincidence.... I mean it would just make a lot of sense as to why God didn't want humans eating them, right? And come to think of it, there is this story where Loki orchestrates the abduction of Idun and because of that, all the gods get all old and decrepit - cause they can't have the apples anymore. Hmmmm, you don't think the Bibical God is actually Loki? This would mean that Loki had all the other gods die off and rewrote history to pretend that he had always been the one and only God. I mean that doesn't sound like a thing Loki would do at all? Right? Christian's worship a terrible trickster as their God! LoL!

God is most likely the conglomeration of space dust, pillars of creation so to speak. I'd think that those xtians wanting to "get closer to god" would encourage space exploration and jwst etc. Cause anyone even remotely intelligent can see that creation come from (the extremely slow process of) exploding/expanding red dwarves, black holes and supernovae etc. Then just encapsulate all that stuff as "yeah but god did the initial bigbang" problem solved.
You can believe in science AND worship ya fictional diety. I am CERTAIN this will not help.

So essentially your argument is that two stories that use an apple as a symbol must be related. Hitler had a dog. Great stuff, really compelling.
Also your fan-fic of how the world would of changed had Christianity never rose is pretty good. Clearly taking quite a bit of liberty with your assumptions.

For thousands of years in Egypt, sun gods, gods of death, fertility, resurection and magic reigned supreme. X god seemed to be absent or at best uncaring. Then, someone thort of a great story. It had sex and death and mystical virgin births. The indivisible oneness of the holey trinity. So, so far we got us a son (sun), virgin birth (mystical fertility) and crucifiction (death) with a resurrection. I have heard this story before somewhere. And it was not good the first time. Until next time, fuckers!
