The reason no gambling as stated earlier is because it was a way to try and hide RMTing.

Beyond the implications of RMT, most in game casinos are scammers that quit out the second they lose big. There's no enforcement or oversight. It's a dumb concept.

Simple: scammers & RMT.
If we decided to go the custom-content / non-classic route, the only casino we need is plat-sink to buy tickets for legacy/unique items all no-drop.

There was mention of possibly adding in NPC versions in High Keep which would could be offered large sums of coin in exchange for a chance at rare nodrop/legacy items, but that was years back and seemed to lose traction.

Some kind of platsink wouldn't be a bad idea.
Not classic of course.

They banned casinos because it made it harder to track RMT transactions.
There used to be a guild called Casino my character on blue was Jawnie in casino and my honest gambling and item transfer services bought me a couple level 60 accounts when accounts used to be sellable for plat in free er better times. RIP classic blue 99 | ||

Plat sink is a no brainer to remove plat from game. As seen in Bazaar you could probably just use that whole NPC and mechanic assuming it exists on eq emu elsewhere already
