![]() I'm about to go on a semi-offtopic tangent here...
People can say "It's a totally different story in game! The forums aren't a reflection of the community!" but I mean, how many of these people interact with the "public" community on a regular basis? I'm unguilded. I'm always jumping around on alts. I'm trying new things, like races and classes I didn't play during Live. Often times, I have questions for things I don't know, or have forgotten in the ridiculously long span of time between when Kunark / Velious was relevant and now. As a general observation between how I see people react to others in /ooc and /shout, and how I see people react to myself in the same channels, there's a great deal of sarcastic, caustic, and unhelpful remarks being thrown around to genuinely innocent questions or comments. I can't even ride on a boat (Freeport -> Butcherblock) without seeing drama fill up my page. In general, I would argue that yes there are some remnants of "classic" behaviour, of people who take the time to coach and help others, or to donate old gear they no longer use instead of using it to further inflate the economy. But they're just that: remnants. I won't say that the unruly behaviour of a vocal majority of forum goers is to blame (I haven't any proof to back it up), but I will say that in general, the attitudes and snarkiness of the forums IS reflective of how people act towards complete strangers. At best, you're better off finding a nice big guild and turning off public chat channels, and never asking for help. Otherwise you have to deal with an unnecessary amount of douchebaggery. Ontopic: The reason there's so many problems? Moderators are not online 24/7 to catch every act of idiocy people commit (Which they obviously would not be. They have their own lives to tend to), and I blame the RnF section because it exists, because it acts as a place for people to be unruly for no reason and that behaviour spills out every where else.

yea what ever dude, anyways it all depends, those who shit talk mostly have a defensive thing about them up, so in defense they talk shit, ill say i am one at times if its deserved by annoyance, over alll im a good player that does his job right in a group, thats all people want in groups, and try to bring no drama along but thats the problem with wow though, people back in classic that were the raiders were'nt the 20 year olds, more of people 30 years of age or older, that played eq to sometimes get get away from the wife and play but yea i did enjoy wow, i only played when mc was the main raid area, after that i didnt play, but with my generation, some reason likes to talk shit, and barely have anything to back it up but most of us are here to enjoy the game
