Ye kinda he doesn’t think racism has anything to do with the systemic problems our country’s African American, Latino, LGBTQ, etc communities deal with. He’s one of those pull yourself up by the bootstraps kinda guys who disregards the lack of generational wealth for some of those communities along with how someone’s lack of familial foundation can be a detriment to their ambitions.

I didn't say that at all. Majority of violent crimes are commited by people who grew up without a father in the home. If you want to hide the root issue behind guns fine, but its not going to magically make society any better as a result.

I don't believe for a second that banning guns will reduce *overall* violent crime.

He’d have kind of an anti-conservative viewpoint if he didn’t acknowledge the importance of a familial foundation. Having a stable and as close to nuclear (2 parents + kids) family ideally with extended family involved as well has always been a big deal to conservatives

I think he’d be a moron to discount the effect of lack of generational wealth. That’s never been an argument. Usually the argument is conservatives call that more of a class thing while the left considers it more of a a race thing depending on how much weight you put on the past historical injustices affect in current day

I don’t think banning guns is the answer either. This is a systemic problem which calls for more than one change. I think things like increased background checks, increased age limit to buy a (25 id say), maybe a mental health screening every few years, buyback programs, storage requirements…idk I have no clue how to fix this but I really think something has got to be done. Don’t you think enough is enough? I don’t like innocent people dying needlessly in mass shootings…especially children my son’s age.
