This might blow your mind too, but it’s a pretty even 50/50 split of men and women that are pro-life. Polls seem to vary with about +/-5% variance, but nearly half of all pro-life voters are women Can you imagine that some are non-Christian suburban moms who want the gov’t to control their own bodies? Sorry to destroy your worldview btw

Sorry I misrepresented these pro-life women voters
When I say they “want the gov’t to control their own bodies”, what I really meant is that they have the capacity to intelligently family plan in a way that they have control of their own procreation. Some make mistakes and they find a non-lethal way to deal with those mistakes Or they lie and still get abortions. Could be some doing that too

If they have money, and it’s not their husband’s, then that wouldn’t make them morons. IQ is one of the biggest indicators of future financial success or failure. If it is their husband’s, then they at least had the skills to find a successful man and secure that relationship, which can be impressive considering the more successful the provider, sometimes the more opportunity they have to leave their partner or cheat due to having more options But again, both of these are not completely true blanket statements. I was surprised to discover that the gal I had a short fling with from tinder recently had a 3yr old son. The dad left as soon as she said she was pregnant but she didn’t want to get an abortion. This was a Dominican chick, fairly poor, uneducated, retail worker who never mentioned religion once. So she didn’t fit the mold of all pro-life women being spoiled white Christians

Oh these are also anecdotal, but I had a co-worker who I’m not sure is 100% pro-life because she is a hardcore progressive like most people working in BH
But she has an interesting story regarding her son. She was 19 or so at a party and hooked up with someone due to being too drunk and high on coke. By this point she was partying and doing coke pretty much every weekend I still have no idea why she didn’t get an abortion because once again I don’t think she is opposed to it, but it’s not because she didn’t know she was pregnant. She knew just about as soon as one could, and when she hit up the dad, he at first acted invested and then left the state To this day she claims having the kid changed her life. When she was my co-worker she was one of my biggest nags against my argument that I’m too narcissistic to be a good parent. She says having a kid changes something in your brain, and you feel a strong paternal bond immediately. Now I don’t believe this is true for everyone but for her it was. She claims that having that kid and being a single parent actually SAVED her life, because it caused her to stop doing the drugs (having the kid was her rock bottom moment), and clean herself up, get her master’s degree, etc The only footnote is that she did have the support of her family for helping to watch the kid. But when someone has the thought “I need to terminate this pregnancy to benefit my situation” it might be just the opposite. For some people having a kid causes some immediate change in their outlook on life and goals in a positive way
