Having religion isn't the end of an enchanter. I played on SZ where religion was required and was able to do all the quests and go anywhere with illusions and faction. Maybe one or two places required a tiny bit of faction work.

That said I do play agnostic now since it is a tad easier (ie can go to outpost and FV).
