If we are going to say that negative publicity about a particular group of people puts that group in danger than that means no more negative publicity

For example, establishment media can saturate the news about an isolated incident of unlawful police action for weeks, and this might (and has, 5 of them during Obama’s term in a single assassination) result in an innocent cop getting murdered

If we accuse Russia of conspiring to ruin our Democracy, could this not result in a Russian-American being murdered?

If we are going to have a policy of assuming negative publicity can potentially incite violence, then we have to apply it to literally everything. No more negative publicity on any subject or any group of people. Otherwise who gets to pick? Establishment media?

It’s some of the biggest themes in politics:

1. Saying the actions of the few speak for the many, while the defense claims “always going to be a few bad apples”

And

2. Saying that negative statements whether true or not could incite violence or put people in danger

Hearing a million different versions of these themes out of the mouths of politicians and from news organizations on both sides of the political isle is one of the things that makes me yearn for death

That, hearing Christmas songs for the millionth time, and seeing the 50th shitty re-imagining or re-run of a movie/book/comic franchise

Death will be my eventual escape
