The book Brave New World (which I loved, was required to read it in HS by this awesome English teacher, the only interesting book I ever read in school) had the elites basically genetically engineering different Tiers of society with different IQ’s

They couldn’t engineer everyone to be geniuses because a genius wouldn’t be fulfilled with a life of manual labor and those jobs still needed to be filled. So the working class they engineered with a lower IQ and conditioned them from birth to enjoy manual labor jobs more than anything else in the world

They also invented a drug that created euphoria with no side effects and no downside (no tolerance), and pornographic pleasure rooms where everyone dosed this drug. Also everyone even the lowest class was genetically engineered to be physically perfect/beautiful, and relationships were not allowed, you just walked up and fucked whoever you wanted

When conflict arose the police just came in and sprayed an airborne version of the euphoria drug and everyone forgot about what made them upset

A dangerously accurate depiction of a dystopian future, and written in like 1960 or some shit. Amazing book, highly recommend, but I’m not much of a reader

That was also in Brave New World. The main character is someone not genetically engineered, aka a “normal person” who lives in a zoo. He either escapes or was let out if I recall

I don't believe mass violence or genocide. Or torturing folks is going to work or be good.

We do need to dial our tolerance back a bit of bad behavior. Back to levels where the grotesque isn't condoned or enabled and fueling a few pocket industries and total welfare decline. And somebody should never be able to hold you hostage with the threat of police, dna scans all that b.s. like get rid of surveillance and DNA evidence. Just go back to old school crime and racketeering so the mafia can take out the real dirtbags. Because the government never will.

Im not against any of these ideas but I just need t oknow the vastness of the universe first.

And I think that that knowledge is available and if it turns out that only 1 guy knows what happens before the big bang and after then im gonna probably go with him, even if his plan sounds less fun than the explore the universe plans of most of the others.

But they may be like, "its a race to figure out to jump to the next universe" or something idk that could be a fun race but then again all sides are gonig to get to make it to that apocolyptic event so maybe you can chose back and forth forever once youve chosen once man what a ride.

Iirc. He was born free on an island that was relatively insignificant and free and had a weird tribal lifestyle based on a silly made up religion. Some how he gets woked and abducted and some alpha tries to integrate him. He just winds up asking to be isolated again and becomes embittered to the new society and also can't go back to his old ways and tries to just live simply and peacefully in his own way without all of the convenience of the brave new world.

May just be the screenplay tho. He's got some familial ties later some how and it's all pretty much a tragedy with even the boss guy kinda melting down in his own existential crisis while his peers kinda look on in pity than pop one of those euphoria orgies and mostly like 99% forget.

I too am very curious to know everything before we punch that big reset button jib.

My main priority is finding ways that future people can benefit from my wisdumb and experience. That and being skinny/healthy as long as possible while the seas run red with alien blood.

Coolest apocalypse scenario is some alien algae falls into the ocean panspermia style and because nothing in our ecosystem can defend against it or its toxins it just floods everything until a few million years later it starts evolving.
