You're talking about small business restaurants. Places that historically have always paid their staff the minimum wage. The rest of their wages are made up with gratuity. Now that all of them have been shut down or nearly shut down due to the government you want to blame the businesses for out of date business practices? You are so out of touch with reality it's not funny. We're not talking about the corporations that also pay the same shit wages -minus gratuity. In what world would you rather eat mcdonalds (garbage) rather than a home cooked meal. You sound like a great tipper bro.

There are no shutdowns any more in 95%+ of places, the government isn't doing anything to these businesses. If business is still light, it is because people as an aggregate are still making a conscious decision to avoid certain situations out of self preservation or whatever reason. It sounds like you are desperate for reasons to defend unsuccessful business models, as if no small restaurant business has ever paid their employees more than minimum wage + tips and stayed in business? Sounds like you are the one who is out of touch. Running a business is difficult and risky. You shouldn't be trying to convince the government to end a popular policy designed to ease pandemic suffering because it is having downstream effects on what free, rational-actor employees are choosing to do.

You obviously have no fucking clue how a restaurant works or operates. Your logic is something like this "well the government shut you down and you can't afford to pay your employees anymore, but just pay your employees more and you'll recover, or die!" The damage is already done.

You'd have to subsidize McDonalds too.
Your ideas are bad and you should feel bad.

I think the problem with businesses not being able to hire people is just a short term problem, like right now nobody wants to work or go outside, some do, but they were probably working all year.
most min wage workers were not, and they are not ready nor do they really need to right now, because guess what, they're not going out! so theyre not spending money, and dont need to work. But as the months go on, and going out becomes normalized again, more apps for jobs will come in, and the pay and jobs will normalize again. We're in a once a century bubble, things are crazy right now because that bubble is popping.

No, the problem is people are collecting $600 / week for doing nothing and they would prefer to do that than work and make more. Anyone still collecting is a lazy, disgusting leech and I'd pack them all into a space ships and send them directly into the sun.
