You are playing with a lot of bots. If a dude just stands there and gets beat or repeatedly sits after pulling aggro over and over again you’re not playing with a real human player. That’s also why they never respond.

There are problems with the community, but I find the average TLP player to be more skilled than the average P99 player. The game itself is harder than P99. P99 is just grindier. Like when I buff my group on P99 I buff everyone at one time and don’t worry about it for a couple of hours. On TLP I don’t have enough mana to do that, so I’m constantly trying to slowly buff and maintain buffs on multiple players while also trying to save enough mana to heal and I regularly have to CC, dispel mobs, stun, cure poison/disease every single pull — something far less common on P99 — also dying is super common — my cleric on p99 never dies between two barriers and lower mob AI where you drop all aggro super easy and root is broken OP and never resists or breaks.

There’s not nearly as many chanters and it’s completely normal for players to CC 5 mobs in compact spaces using nothing but Root or Necromancer mez or Bard charm... P99 players would never even attempt this, if they don’t get an enchanter they just give up.

Also I would say people on TLP communicate way more if they aren’t bots..I’ve been in Discord calls with almost every single group I’ve had.. this never happened, not even once on P99...


The biggest problem I’ve had so far is people being blatantly greedy. For instance almost every group I’ve been in has a group leader who decides to give himself loot because he needs it, but doesn’t apply the same logic to others in the group. For instance a Shaman earlier awarded himself 5 pieces of Totemic, including the helmet and a darksea harpoon because they are Shaman only... but then when abalone gorget and adamantite epaulets drop, and I’m the only Cleric... nah, time to greed roll. Had a Ranger do the same thing with Granite bracers, and then when Runed Mithril Bracers drop and I NEED them, nah, greed roll... same dude took a mithril breastplate and then took a brigantine tunic 5 minutes later... and then when the bard wants another brig tunic that drops.. same guy insists on greed roll...this isn’t like rare occurrences either, every group I’ve been in has been like this and people tolerate it because they want to level while exp is still fast but you can tell everyone silently hates it.

Also saw a Druid win a thick banded belt and then curse a rogue out for not giving the Druid black chitin leggings that dropped...like wtf lol

Look forward to getting a guild with people I like playing with because so far I kind of hate a lot of people and have already started a shut list of people I won’t group with.

Edit those of us who hit 50 super fast may be much more skilled and competitive than those who are still level 30... maybe there are legit bads down there, but I feel like I’m playing with ultra competitive people..

In what world do people on P99 not use Bard or Nec mez or charm, or not use root, to CC in groups? That’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard you say in awhile lol. If you actually communicate in the group and pick one or two people to be on root duty they will root. The only bad things I’ve seen with root is someone by accident rooting a mob right next to a group member who was sitting down...people root constantly as CC.

And saying people don’t use bard mez or charm as cc? Makes me wonder if you’ve actually played much on P99 because this happens nonstop in groups with Bards unless you ask them not to do it. Nec charm is less common, usually because it’s simply not needed since everyone can just root for cc.

You can buy it in game for platinums. Or online for money, either from people or DBG. Tbh. Dbg is running about a dollar more right now.

No one on P99 forms groups without Enchanters. Love how on TLP mez is nerfed, and several other classes can fill the CC slot in a group.

Also TLP = real gamers. I never met anyone on P99 who plays games. On TLP almost everyone in my groups plays Apex, OW, WoW, LoL. Very competitive and high skill groups. Try going AFK on TLP and see how that works out for you. Have seen many DPS get the boot for low damage, and casters get booted over forgetting to buy critical spells — there are a lot of people who want your spot in a group, so do your job well. There is competition— people steal our rares and we still their rares. Fun. The sky is the limit. Love being OOM and almost wiping 24/7 for insane reward.

It's not worth it at all. I think a lot of people have jobs and weren't able to level to 50 really fast like the rest of us. Like on P99 Green as a Cleric for me to go out and get a Mithril 2 Handed Sword it would be a massive under-taking that would require me getting in good with an Enchanter who was willing able to camp King, assuming the camp is open, and it could take days.

On TLP? They drop at Kobold Royals, BNB, and multiple camps in Lower Guk that I've personally seen. I think newbs don't realize this and are willing to drop cash on stuff like that, but I doubt very seriously that anyone over level 40 would even buy a Mith 2 handed sword for 100p. There are also better weapons that are trade-able now.

By the time you are mid 40s most of your group members will be wearing planar gear and using planar weapons.

Edit: If you plan on spending money on this game, buy stuff like crates. I got some game-breaking items out of mine, like being able to teleport to Misty Thicket or Fool's Gold Tavern any time I want as a Cleric is insane.
