World of Outlaws is also a cooler name than F1, which is a computer key.

Did you miss last night's wild 40-lap @NosEnergyDrink Feature at @AtticaRacewyPrk?

408 > 409

no im kidding.. of course a stroked LS from the future is better.

What was so great about the 409? (then watched the video)

Oh it ran 11's from the factory, pretty much. In like, the stone age. They still had drum brakes and shit. lol 11's. Think about that.

Formula 409 cleaner was also inspired by this engine (really). It was culturally significant.

Hey, I like drum brakes. Cleaner than disks, more reliable, and last longer. Disks are better for mountain driving or for tracks but for normal street driving in most the country I consider them an unwanted hassle. I curse them every time I have to clean my whitewalls, which is frequent because disks are filthy things.

On top of that it's getting hard to find quality parts; the past few years I've got into the habit of carrying around a laser thermometer due to calipers sticking so often these days. It's odd since disks aren't new tech (as you point out) and I never had any great trouble with dragging brakes 20, 30 years ago. It's just recent. I suspect the manufacturers are cheaping out on quality nowadays like everyplace else.
