Providing evidence to support your claim isn't proving a negative, just show us a study in a peer-reviewed journal that hasn't been retracted.
They don't do anything

Have you ever read the fine print on that mask you bought in the store

He's a bentham science man. Any journal, no matter how low the standards, will do for him. He would take the word of the "pseudoscience journal" as fact. Even after they have been proven to accept outright fake papers and rubber stamp them as peer reviewed for 800 dollars.

The lancet had to retract a paper or two before. Does that mean the entire journal is now garbage??

Welp dont ever go to a doctor. You know where they learn medicine?? LIBERAL COLLEGES THAT REVIEW AND PUBLISH SCIENTIFIC PAPERS!!! cue the fucking scary music.

Dont use any technology. It was developed using scientific method and practices known and published by journals which peer review.

How do you think humans make new technology?? You think they reinvent the wheel everytime they make a car? rediscover electricity with every cel phone made? lolol

There are several in this thread already of large randomized clinical trials that prove masks don't do anything

https://www.acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/M20-6817

Quote:
The recommendation to wear surgical masks to supplement other public health measures did not reduce the SARS-CoV-2 infection rate among wearers by more than 50% in a community with modest infection rates, some degree of social distancing, and uncommon general mask use. The data were compatible with lesser degrees of self-protection.
The only reason why the original was retracted was to gather more data on N95 masks (that nobody wears). The opinion did not change in regards to store bought face diapers which even have a disclaimer on them that they don't stop the spread of Covid

Masks are purely political symbolism which is why it's all lefties pretending they work. You know they don't work either, you just want to tell other people what to do

Objective:
To assess whether recommending surgical mask use outside the home reduces wearers' risk for SARS-CoV-2 infection in a setting where masks were uncommon and not among recommended public health measures.

Results The rates of all infection outcomes were highest in the cloth mask arm, with the rate of ILI statistically significantly higher in the cloth mask arm (relative risk (RR)=13.00, 95% CI 1.69 to 100.07) compared with the medical mask arm. Cloth masks also had significantly higher rates of ILI compared with the control arm. An analysis by mask use showed ILI (RR=6.64, 95% CI 1.45 to 28.65) and laboratory-confirmed virus (RR=1.72, 95% CI 1.01 to 2.94) were significantly higher in the cloth masks group compared with the medical masks group. Penetration of cloth masks by particles was almost 97% and medical masks 44%.

Conclusions This study is the first RCT of cloth masks, and the results caution against the use of cloth masks. This is an important finding to inform occupational health and safety. Moisture retention, reuse of cloth masks and poor filtration may result in increased risk of infection. Further research is needed to inform the widespread use of cloth masks globally. However, as a precautionary measure, cloth masks should not be recommended for HCWs, particularly in high-risk situations, and guidelines need to be updated.
lol
