I'm not able to log in either, getting the error that spells_us.txt is invalid, but I've extracted/replaced new patch (54) files into my EQ directory correctly (have done this many times with many other patches and never had an issue). I also tried reverting to patch 53 spells_us.txt but that made no difference.. Has anyone else who had this problem got it to work yet? If so how?

In case anyone is having the same issue, I fixed this by not using the program "wineq2" to run p99 anymore (I used this for windowed mode), if I use the standard shortcut to eqgame.exe it works normally again. Not sure why it stopped working with this patch.
