i think suffering factors in to life's meaning, depending on what u mean by those 2 words, but actually i would contend that it's the limited time we get to experience which is the definitive axis. triumph over the suffering is definitely huge. but it only exists in relation to the limited time, the gratitude for bearing witness to some un-suffering beauty in your limited time. spending precious time connecting with the people you love. as well as plain old solitary moments of awe at creation. being able to give the few young & pretty years of your life to somebody special. even the most complexly colored seafoamy sunset would look like some sort of colossally ugly fractal prison without the blessed & cursed dimension of time, which gives even annoying minutiae meaning. Nah i dont think it's suffering that's definitive, although I definitely see where the notion would come from, wat with how intrinsic to life and strangely inescapable suffering is. But why shouldn't the joy be the definitive experience, because it's rarer? Don't dwell on the sad stuff
