Melee benefit more off gear than casters do. Casters really only get better with new spells. Melee get better with more gear. So as a caster as much as I hate to say it, theres no reason spells cant go for the same price some items do.

All else being equal, a 60 shaman with torpor will be worth more than a 60 shaman without torpor.
